COVID-Specific Therapies
For all new applicants applying for membership/privileges at Bristol Health, please contact our Medical Office at 860.585.3474 or email cgranger@bristolhospital.org or squinto@bristolhospital.org to begin the process.
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a drug test and proof of immunity to include Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella. At this appointment you will also have a PPD and be fit tested for a respirator. Please contact MedWorks (860-589-0114) to schedule your appointment and inform them you are in need of clearance. Every effort will be made to accommodate your schedule. Appointments are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 11:30 am and 1:00 to 3:30 pm. This appointment should take approximately 30 minutes. You may speak with Laura Leonetti, RN, if you have any questions regarding this process, if testing is performed by MedWorks. If you have had a drug screening test within the past six (6) months, you may not need to have another one performed. If you do not currently live in the Bristol area and you wish to have this test performed in another location, please contact Ms. Leonetti to discuss this further. Do not send any paperwork to MedWorks without first contacting them directly. MedWorks of Bristol, Bristol Hospital's Occupational Health Program, is located at 975 Farmington Ave, Bristol, CT 06010. In addition, all employees must receive the influenza vaccine by December 1st of the current year. The vaccine will be provided to all practitioners, free of charge. The beginning and end of the influenza season will be determined by the Infection Control practitioner. Each vaccinated worker will receive a sticker to put on his/her badge to indicate his/her vaccination status. If you obtained a vaccination outside of Bristol Hospital, documentation must be submitted. The only exemptions will be for medical or religious reasons. Any practitioner requesting a medical or religious exemption must complete the Bristol Hospital “exemption request” form. The medical exemption form must be completed by the practitioner’s private medical physician. All requests for an exemption will be reviewed and determined to be acceptable or not. Those with exemptions will be required to wear a surgical mask during flu season whenever they are in the hospital. Employees will not be allowed to enter the hospital or granted privileges until all of the requested documentation has been received.
